Archbishop Lwanga calls for humility

Dec 10, 2017

“God called us to serve him. Many will not appreciate your service, but let’s serve God well with all our hearts.”

The Archbishop of Kampala, Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, has asked the religious,  and Christians to always be respectful to God by submitting to their superiors.

Lwanga made the call on Friday while conducting Holy Mass at Mapeera Bakateyamba's Home. Thirteen sisters made their first, perpetual vows, while others celebrated 25 years in sisterhood.

Lwanga was assisted by Bishops John Baptist Kaggwa of Masaka, Paul Ssemwogerere of Kasana-Luweero, Vincent Kirabo of Hoima Diocese, and retired Lugazi Diocese Bishop Matthias Ssekamaanya, among others.

"Let us always rejoice in our callings. God called us to serve him. Many will not appreciate your service, but let's serve God well with all our hearts," Lwanga said.

The Archbishop hailed the sisters for choosing to remain pure and obedient to God as they serve mankind. He asked God to fulfil what he had started in them and also asked them to love one another.
