Nurses union leaders call off strike

The union leaders and the government agreed to continue with discussion and come up with final position on the issues raised by the Nurses and Midwives Union by Saturday.

The nurses' union leaders have called off the strike that was to start Tuesday, following a meeting with the President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and a government team led by Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda.


The union leaders and the government agreed to continue with discussion and come up with final position on the issues raised by the Nurses and Midwives Union by Saturday.

The suspension of the strike was announced this evening at a press conference addressed by Rugunda and the union leaders at the Office of the Prime Minister.
