Vipers Sport Club thrashed Bright Stars 6-1 to continue piling more pressure on Masavu and Mbarara City in the FUFA Junior U-18 League.
The victory left Vipers third in the group with 14 points, two and six below Mbarara City and Masavu respectively.
Sulaiman Mpanga and Ivan Ashaba scored a hat trick and double respectively before Washington Odoch added the other Vipers. Samuel Ssenyonjo had a goal for Bright Stars.
The FUFA Junior league was designed to cater for players under 18 years and it was a requirement from all the 16 premier league sides if they were to be licensed for the new season.
The players in this league have a chance of playing for the senior sides. In case a team wins with more than a two-goal margin, it is awarded four points instead of three.
Elsewhere, league top scorer Nathaniel Atamba (eight goals) and Allan Ahimbisibwe were on target as Mbarara City beat Express 2-1. Brian Beera scored the consolation for the Red Eagles.
In the Treble Group, KCCA walloped Maroons 4-0 away in Luzira. Sadat Anaku, Francis Jurua, Innocent Shaban and Issa Ochama each had a goal for KCCA. Group leaders Onduparaka drew 1-1 with UPDF.
