Ibanda University graduated 416 students in its first batch.

Four hundred and sixteen students graduated with degrees, diplomas and certificates on the first graduation ceremony held Friday at Ibanda university in Ibanda district.

The event was presided over by the newly appointed Chancellor of the University, Prof. Venansias Baryamureeba, accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Emmanuel Karoro.

The university started in 2014.

Baryamureeba challenged granduands to live by example, be good ambassadors of Ibanda univesity and be careful of social lives they live.

"Your attitude and network determines your destiny. Associate with a person that develops you careerwise and most importantly, avoid despising jobs opportunities available to you," he said.

Baryamureeba used the same opportunity to commend President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM government for boosting education levels in the country by providing accommodative environment that have seen private education institutions such as Ibanda University come up.

He also urged them to be innovative.

"Employers want to hire people who are always thinking about how to make their businesses better. Look around at the problems in your community, and in solving these problems, you will find the best opportunities," the simba telecom boss added.

"In these years after your degree you will learn more than you did in school. Get  out there and look out for opportunities to learn and grow," he said.
