230 Out of more than 260 KCCA were flagged off by KCCA minister Betty Kamya from office of the president Kampala to Kyankwanzi for a week long course in leadership and patriotism.

After flagging them off, Kamya while addressing journalists, dismissed claims that the  leaders would be given bribes.

"Everything on their budget was remitted by the office of the president and I really thank him for accepting to respond to the councillors' long time request to go and study patriotism and leadership," she said.

Some of the experts who will be train the councillors include UPDF chief Political commissar Brigadier Gen. Matsiko Henry, Col. Felix Kuraigye and Col. Patrick Mwesigye (the commissioner of patriotism corps).

Others are Captain Kigozi Kaweesa, the RDC of Mukono; Kambarage Kakonge, the commissioner for national guidance and Zayidi Mpaata a lecturer from Makerere Business School.

Some Opposition councillors, especially from DP an FDC, shunned the course alleging that it is aimed at bribing them to support the proposed age limit amendment bill.

However, Kamya explained that there is no need of bribing councillors in matters of llegislation becasue they are not legislators.
