Gulu to launch 16 days of activism against GBV

Gender Based Violence remains a pertinent issue in the region.

Gulu district will on Friday launch 16 days of activism against gender-based violence (GBV).

According to a letter signed by the chief Administrative Officer, Odwar Santa, the launch will take place at Kaunda Grounds.

She says the days will be used as an advocacy and mobilisation strategy to call for the elimination of all forms of Gender Based Violence.

According to the district probation officer, Jessica Anena, GBV remains a pertinent issue in the region.

She called on the men to embrace the campaign and to play a leading role in providing security to women and girls.

The theme for the day is; From Peace in Homes to Peace in the Nation: Male Engagement for Safety of Women and Children

The Resident District Commissioner of Gulu, Santo Okot Lapolo, is expected to grace the ceremony as guest of honour.
