Children take over: Kaabong girl is Vision Group new Editor-in-Chief

A 13-year-old Christine Nakwang has today morning taken over from Barbara Kaija as Vision Group's Editor-in-Chief.

This comes as Uganda continues to commemorate World Children's Day celebrated on November 20, every year to mark the date that the Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations in 1959.

Nakwang, a Primary Six pupil at Lokerui Primary School arrived at Vision Group offices as early as 7:30am and was helped around the newsroom by Kaija before she was taken to chair the morning editorial meeting.

"Sorry to interrupt the meeting, but I am introducing the new Editor-in-Chief Nakwang. She is going to be with us today and she will learn how to edit news," said Kaija in the meeting.

Nakwang is welcomed by New Vision news editor Hellen Mukiibi as Kaija looks on

Kaija added: "I am from a humble back ground as well and I believe she can make it at this level."
