FUFA's Emergency Committee has appointed a team of five that will be in charge of running ‘The Drum' tournament.

The tournament was introduced last month and will be contested by different regions of the country. The tournament is aimed at taking the game to masses across the country.

"This is to notify you that the FUFA Emergency Committee has constituted ‘The Drum Project Committee' (DPC) to organise the competition for the first edition of 2018 season," read a letter from FUFA CEO Edgar Watson's office.

FUFA executive committee member Rogers Byamukama will head the committee. Florence Bagunywa Nkalubo, Livingstone Lajan and Anthony Tumwesigye will be the other members while Hajati Aisha Nalule will be the secretary of the committee.

The new competition was launched by FUFA president Moses Magogo following a resolution of the 93rd FUFA Ordinary General Assembly and the 13th FUFA Executive Committee directive to formulate the competition.

FUFA will meet the cost of the teams in the areas of accommodation, transport, individual and team winners' prizes, trophies and medals plus costs of match officials including the competition and training balls.
