Sudanese President Omar Bashir visits

President Yoweri Museveni welcomed him at State House Entebbe where they held private talks.



Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir this morning arrived in Uganda for a two-day visit on the invitation of his counterpart, President Yoweri Museveni.

Bashir arrived at the Entebbe International airport at 11:00am, accompanied by other high-ranking officials from Sudan, and was received by the state minister for foreign affairs, Henry Okello Oryem, among other government officials.

On his arrival at State House Entebbe, the Sudan leader was given a 21-gun salute. He was received by at 12:00pm.

He also inspected the guard of honour mounted by the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).

Bashir, who last visited Uganda in May last year for Museveni's swearing-in ceremony, is in the country for bi-lateral talks.
