Tororo Hospital has remained operating normally despite the countrywide strike by medical workers demanding better payment.

Patients said since the medics elsewhere laid down their tools four days ago, services at the hospital have remained uninterrupted and they have been attended to in time.

New Vision on Friday morning found the medics in their various sections treating patients and attending to their needs.

The medical superintendent Dr Thomas Ochar said they are operating as usual because they value the lives of their patients.

He said it is only the nurses and pharmacist medical interns who had not reported to work on Friday morning.

‘'The medics have been receiving numerous calls from their colleagues accusing them of betrayal, but we have been encouraging them to continue working despite the challenges.

"We have also handled all the emergencies and the doctors are on standby,'' Ochar told New Vision in his office.
