Over 1,000 cleared to vote in FDC presidency race

Over 1,000 voters have been confirmed fit to participate in the November 24 Forum for Democratic (FDC) party presidential elections due to take place at Namboole Stadium.

The party's electoral commission boss, Dan Mugarura, said the number was endorsed after a clean-up exercise of the voters' register.

A copy of the final register has also been supplied to agents of the candidates.

Mugarura also confirmed receiving a notice from Mubarak Munyagwa, indicating his decision to pull out of the race for the party's top job, in favour of Patrick Amuriat Oboi.
