Ruhaama MP Zinkuratire succumbs to Hepatitis B

WILLIAM Beijukye Zinkuratire, the Ruhaama County, Member of Parliament has passed away.


He succumbed to Hepatitis B on Friday at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.

Zinkuratire replaced Janet Museveni as MP for Ruhaama when he trounced his contenders including Kachene-Santuria, Keneth Kagundu (FDC), Mugabe Kahima, Barugahare Vincent, Mpeirwe Arthur Rwobushanku, and Brenda Ankunda Mutetsi.

Zinkuratire has been the fifth MP for Ruhaama following the creation of this Constituency that was curved out of Ankole-Rukiiko hall, which was represented by Grace Ibingira (RIP) in the 70s.

Rwaboona Kagurusi (RIP) was the first MP for Ruhaama in the Obote II regime, followed by Elly Rwakakooko, Augustine Ruzindana, and then Janet Kataha Museveni.

Zinkuratire has also been one of the church pillars in the South Ankole diocese and also a businessman in Kampala owning Parambott Breweries Company, Mother's gift supermarket in Namungona and others.

His body will be taken to Parliament for viewing and All Saints Cathedral Kampala for requiem service.

He will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Rweikiniro Sub County Ruhaama Ntungamo district.
