The Uganda Human Rights Commission wants the Government to clean up the Police force to crackdown on errant officers engaged in criminal acts.

The seven officers who were arrested and charged by the Army Court of kidnap include top commanders Joel Aguma and Nixion Agasirwe.

The acting chairperson of the Comission, Meddie Mulumba, said the image of the institution is tainted.

He said there is need for the Police to regain public trust.
