KCCA tips pupils ahead of PLE

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has warned teachers and headteachers of primary schoolS in Kampala to disist from participating in exam malpractices as the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) draw closer.

The headteachers and teachers, together with over 350 pupils from Kampala were attending a service in which the pupils were dedicated to God.

The director of Education services at KCCA, Juliet Namuddu, told the press shortly after the prayers that KCCA will ensure examination papers are delivered on time in all the schools in Kampala.

There about 29,000 pupils in Kampala who are expected to sit their PLE on Wednesday and Thursday (November 2 and 3).

"KCCA has set a side 36 cars which will be used in the five Kampala divisions to pick the examination papers from the Police stations, to ensure they are kept safe before they are distributed to the schools," Namuddu said.

The headteacher of Kitanate Primary School, Jane Ssemugooma, said her pupils are all set and ready for the examinations. She tipped the pupils not to rely only on prayers, but do last minute revision.

She told the pupils to be responsible and write properly.

The pupils were dedicated by different religious leaders from the Muslim faith, Catholic church and Anglican Church.
