With the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), the army has made it clear that among other qualifications, the recruit must have all their teeth intact.

During an exclusive interview with UPDF spokesperson Richard Karemire, he said recruting officers make sure those who wish to join the army have all their teeth.

"If we recruit people with gaps, it will be hard for that person to give orders. Let's say there is a parade, such a person cannot be a parade commander because while he is talking, soldiers' attention will be taken by the gap in the parade commander's mouth than the orders he is giving," says Karemire.

The army also will not recruit women who have bleached, oversized people and those without children.
