Kampala Capital City Authority has announced Operations to crackdown on taxis and other commercial road users who default on their monthly fees.

The operators' failure to pay their monthly dues stems from the interpretation of the presidential directive in a letter addressed to the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda on the harmonisation of taxation from the informal sector.

The KCCA acting director for revenue, Fred Andema, says that they were advised by  Cabinet that commercial road users must continue meeting their obligations for the authority to raise funds to run affairs of the city.

They have issued an ultimatum of six days for defaulters to comply or else their vehicles shall be impounded.
