FUFA's appeals committee to meet over Shaban transfer

Shaban made the move to KCCA after the player status committee provisionally released him from a three year contract

FUFA's appeals committee will sit this week to decide the fate of controversial transfer of Muhammed Shaban from Onduparaka to KCCA.

"We shall sit this week to come out with ruling on both parties," stated the committee chairman Richard Kiboneka.

Shaban made the move to KCCA after the player status committee provisionally released him from a three year contract executed on August 2nd, 2016 with Onduparaka.

The committee went ahead to state that Onduparaka was entitled to a fair compensation from the player or a club that intended to engage the player.

But if both parties failed to agree on a fair compensation after 30 days, the provisional licence was supposed to be automatically recalled and the player status committee was to make a final decision on compensation.

But Onduparaka failed to agree with the decision of the appeals committee thus petitioning the committee.

Onduparaka head of communication Mercy Munduru told New Vision Sport that they are not at loggerheads with KCCA because of money but rather the process KCCA used to get Shaban.

"This is not about money. We would transfer Shaban at whatever fee but this more of a process how KCCA got the player. We have looked up to KCCA but they set a  bad precedent for us and other small clubs after negotiating with player without the club's consent yet the player had a running contract," stated Munduru.
