Children below six years of age stand a higher risk of developing maligned teeth due to negligence when shedding primary teeth.

Maligned teeth is the kind that grows unbalanced and sharply pointed in a weird manner.

This was according to Bruno Gidudu, a senior dentist who says children need expert care when they are losing primary teeth.

"I have registered many children below the age of six shedding teeth. Poor removal of primary teeth blocks secondary teeth growth, causing maligned teeth," Gidudu lamented.

Gududu also blamed parents for such occurrences due to their negligence of not enrolling the children in hospitals for proper care for their children.

"Many parents have phobia to see their children's teeth removed and also do not want to see them cry during the process," Gidudu stressed.

Parents are advised to always visit hospitals for medical assistance in case they fear removing their children's primary teeth.

This was revealed in a medical camp conducted by Roofings Rolling Mills last week at St Peters Nantabulirwa, Namanve in Mukono. The camp addressed cases such as ringworms, eye ailments, HIV/AIDS, intestinal disorders and scabies.

The main cause of such infections according to the health experts include poor personal hygiene, direct contact with infected persons and air borne transmissions.
