Egypt v Congo Brazzaville

Uganda Cranes dream of making it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia hangs in balance after settling to goalless draw with Ghana today evening at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

The result left Cranes second in Group E with eight points, one below leaders Egypt who have a game in hand against Congo Brazzaville tomorrow.

If the Pharaohs of Egypt win tomorrow's game, they will go to 12 points thus qualifying for the World Cup with one game left before completion of group stages.

Cranes have to pray that Egypt draws or is beaten by Congo Brazzaville to keep their dreams alive.

Ghana remained third in the group with six points, one above bottom side Congo Brazzaville

Despite playing at home, Cranes looked depleted, giving the visitors chance to hold onto the ball.  Uganda also had themselves to blame after missing over four clear chances that would have given them a goal.

Cranes will face Congo away in Brazzaville in their last fixture of the group stages on November 6, while Ghana will host Egypt on the same date in Alexandria.
