Ugandan hospitality is a motivating factor to them

This is the first time Ghana will be playing in a tournament of such magnitude but that does not mean that they are tourists and that they are here to endure beatings when the Rugby Africa 7s tournament kicks-off on Friday at Legends Rugby Club.

Coach Lovemore Kuzozera told New Vision during the team's training at Legends on Wednesday afternoon that they are up for a learning experience but they are also targeting a win.

"We are the underdogs and cannot compare ourselves to Uganda and Zimbabwe but we shall work hard to see that we gauge ourselves with teams like Uganda and Zimbabwe but that does not mean we are here for a beating," Kuzozera stated.

He said the team is ready and the climate is ok even though it is a little harsh compared to that back home but Ugandan hospitality is a motivating factor to them.

Uganda who are defending champions are aiming to win the tournament so as to qualify for both the Commonwealth Games and the 7s World Cup.

Uganda's squad include James Ijongat, James Odongo, Eric Kasiita (captain) and Philip Wokorach (vice), Kevin Keremundu, Solomon Okia, Byron Oketayot, Pius Ogena, Adrian Kasito, Micheal Wokorach and Timothy Kisiga.
