He returns to the side having missed out on the double header with Egypt

Tony Mawejje has promised to do his all to ensure that Uganda Cranes' hopes of making it to the 2018 World Cup stay alive.

Mawejje who turns out for Albanian side FKF Tirana made the remarks ahead of Cranes weekend qualifier against at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

"I know how to beat Ghana because I have played more than 4 games against them. I am now rejuvenated and ready to give in all I have to help Uganda get good results," said Mawejje.

Mawejje returns to the side having missed out on the double header with Egypt a month ago.

Mawejje joined other professional players that arrived in the country for Saturday's match including Isaac Isinde, Joseph Ochaya, Godfrey Walusimbi, Hassan Wasswa, Edrisa Lubega, Geoffrey Serunkuma and William Luwagga Kizito.

However Cranes will be without the services of midfielder Geoffrey Kizito after he sustained an injury on Sunday while playing in the Vietnam league.

Cranes are set to face Madagascar in a friendly on Wednesday in Lugogo.
