CRAZY CRAZY KAMPALA

Current and old students of Lubiri Secondary School in Kampala last Saturday, broke into excitement when singer Eddie Kenzo visited.

The school was holding an alumni celebration, with Vice-President Edward Ssekandi as guest of honour. Ssekandi was mid-speech when Kenzo arrived.

The students rose from their seats and caused commotion as they scrambled to embrace the award winner, who happens to be an Old Boy of the school. Speeches which were going on had to stop for some time.

Kenzo later jokingly rebuked his former teacher, Martini Ntume, who was the emcee. "Friends, this man used to beat me because of music. Was he fair to harass me just because of my passion for music? Am I not now a musical champion?"

At the end of Kenzo's performance, several students fought to get his autograph, while others tried to block him from leaving the venue. He threw some sh50,000 banknotes in the air, which diverted the students' attention and enabled him escape them.
