Four women murdered in Luweero

Earlier on, unknown assailants believed to have been robbers strangled a 63-year-old woman at Kabakedi village near Luweero town.

Four women have been killed by unknown assailants in a wave of murders that has hit Luweero district in the last three weeks.


In the most recent incident, an elderly woman, Esther Nalugo, a resident of Kasenene village in Bamunanika, was on Tuesday strangled to death by unknown assailants who are still on the run.

On Monday, a jilted husband pounced on his wife and cut her throat, before fleeing.
The Savannah regional police commander, Edward Kyaligonza identified the victim as Justine Dumba, a resident of Ngogolo village near Luweero town. The police in Luweero are still looking for the assailant.

Earlier on, unknown  assailants believed to have been robbers  strangled a 63-year-old woman  at  Kabakedi  village near Luweero  town.  The District CID boss, Raymond Jagwe said the police had not yet established the motive of the attack. Before fleeing, the assailants who are still at large first searched the victim's house, leaving everything scattered.

On September 16, unknown thugs at Kankoolwe village in Bamunanika broke into the house of 72-year-old Alice Nakku whom they strangled to death. The police said no suspect had been arrested by yet.
