The beneficiaries show off their new acquisitions

A total of 145 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Ibanda district have received free wheelchairs donated by Fathers Heart Mobility Ministry under Gabba Community Church in Kampala in Kampala.

The wheelchairs, each valued at sh500,000 were handed to youth, adults and Children over the weekend at Ibanda district headquarters.

Vincent Mubangizi, one of the beneficiaries could not hide his excitement upon receiving the wheelchair.

Mubangizi says he has spent most of his life crawling as a result of his disability which he was born with 39 years ago.

He, however, says the wheelchair will help him move around, interface with his peers and also engage in productive ventures.

Eliasto Akatuhebwa, the Ibanda resident district commissioner says the donation was timely and a relief to the beneficiaries since the Government cannot afford to give wheelchairs to all people in need due to budget constraints.
