They will face England, Argentina and hosts Germany in Pool B of the group stages

Former Rugby Cranes 7s team captain Michael Wokorach has urged his teammates to give their best during the DHL Oktoberfest Rugby 7s tournament this Saturday in Germany.

Wokorach said that apart from Argentina, they have played England and Germany before and it is just a matter of believing in themselves to get good results.

“We have trained and apart from Desire Ayera all the players have been on the team which means that the team has experience gained from the games we played last year in Hong Kong, Dubai and Kenya,” Wokorach stated.

“Yes we are using this tournament to polish our team ahead of the Rugby Africa 7s tournament but we should be in position to perform better and the boys must be committed to fetch good results,” Wokorach added.

The Rugby Cranes 7s team leaves Tuesday for Germany to face England, Argentina and hosts Germany in Pool B of the group stages of the two-day tournament.

Team manager Michael Wandera confirmed the 12 traveling players: James Ijongat, James Odongo, Brian Kikawa, Eric Kasiita (captain), Philip Wokorach (vice-captain), Desire Ayera, Ramadhan Govule Fred Odur, Pius Ogena, Adrian Kasito, Micheal Wokorach and Timothy Kisiga.

The officials are Tolbert Onyango (coach), Wandera and Noah Kayongo (physiotherapist).

Wandera however added that he has seven players including Lawrence Ssebuliba, Kevin Keremundu, Byron Oketayot, Alhaji Manano, Joseph Aredo, Solomon Okia and Ivan Magomu on standby in case of any injury.
