Kadaga to launch tree planting in Pallisa

The move is aimed at addressing and mitigating climatic hazards in the district

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga will launch tree planting activities in Pallisa district.

According to James Peter Omeke Okanya the patron of Pallisa Students Association (PASDA) who initiated the drive, the activities will be conducted under the theme ‘Protecting our Environment and changing our Climate'.

The launch will be held on Saturday at Agule Sub County headquarters in Pallisa district.

Omeke said students who hail from Pallisa and studying in different universities and other higher institutions of learning jointly came up with the tree planting initiative in order to make the district to look green.

Speaking to New Vision, Omeke said the move is aimed at addressing and mitigating climatic hazards in the district.

He called on Pallisa residents to turn up in large number to grace the occasion.

Ben Eumu the LC5 chairman Ngora district urged the people of Teso to engage in tree planting as the only mechanism of reorganizing nature.

"We must befriend trees because without them we shall not have air to breathe in. We get oxygen from trees so everyone must own oxygen in his environment by planting trees " said Eumu.
