FDC leaders have unveiled a plan detailing various activities aimed at fighting the removal of the presidential age limit from the Constitution
.

Addressing a press conference held today at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the FDC acting president Alice Alaso said they will do everything within their means to fight the plan, which they believe is dangerous for the country.

"This push to amend article 102b is actually a move to create a constitutional dictatorship and life presidency and must be resisted by all Ugandans," Alaso argued.

The FDC secretary general, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, said they are mobilising thousands of Ugandans to join them as they take a petition on Thursday to the Speaker of Parliament, not to accept the motion to draft the Bill for removing the age limit.

Some MPs of the ruling National Resistance Movement party, led by Igara MP Raphael Magyezi, are expected to present the motion this week on Thursday.

FDC chairman Wasswa Biriggwa urged President Yoweri Museveni to reject the agitation for removing the age limit, so that he retires honourably.

"We can even pass a law to give amnesty to present Museveni so that he is not prosecuted for the crimes he committed while in power," Biriggwa suggested.
