Express goalkeeping coach Sam Kawalya who has the CAF B licence was in charge of the team

Confusion reigned at Wankulukuku Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as Express settled for a goalless draw with Kirinya Jinja SS in the Uganda Premier League.

The Red Eagles have had a tumultuous transfer window, bleeding players and technical staff including the coach who walked out on the club barely a week before the season began.

Edward Karungi who is the interim coach and his assistant Hassan Mubiru watched the action from behind the technical team.

Mubiru made himself comfortable on the bench before the match before he was told he couldn't sit there.

Karungi is a Uganda Football Players Association delegate and by virtue of his position, he can't take charge of the team while former Uganda Cranes striker Mubiru lacks a CAF B licence which is the minimum requirement to sit on the technical team.

Kawalya was left to make consultancy trips from the touchline to where Karungi and Mubiru were seated as Express toiled throughout the match.
