He wants the office of the IGG to investigate the circumstances under which he has not been paid

The LC3 chairperson Pingire Sub County in Serere district, Michael Ongwara, has sought the intervention of the Inspector General of Government (IGG) over unpaid gratuity by the district.

In his letter dated August 28, 2017 addressed to the IGG Soroti branch, Ongwara castigated district authorities for allegedly refusing to pay his gratuity worth sh1,116,000 in the financial year 2016/17.

He also stated that after missing pay in the month of June this year, he went to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) where he was promised to be paid at the end of July but according to Ongwara, his gratuity has not been paid up to today.

He now wants the office of the IGG to investigate the circumstances under which he has not been paid yet his counterparts have been paid.

When contacted, the CAO Isa Mbooge, apologized for the inconveniences caused blaming the district's delay to clear Ongwara's gratuity on failure of the integrated finance management system.

"We shall clear his gratuity once the integrated finance management system problem is rectified" said Mbooge.
