A prominent evangelist and marriage expert, Pastor John Graham Ssewannyana has defended Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga's mass wedding function referring to it as a "timely matrimonial testimony."

Ssenyonga and his wife Eva on Saturday wedded 600 couples during a day-long function at Christian Life Church, Bwaise. The record-breaking function drew mixed reactions with some people questioning the due preparation of the couples.

Pastor Graham nonetheless uttered positive words about the event: "This successful mass-wedding is a testimony that couples can have a dignified Church wedding without incurring enormous financial costs. What is important for any couple is their matrimonial conviction and commitment, not the expensive venues, bridal gowns or cars. We have seen many expensive weddings, which collapsed just after few months or years."

Pastor Ssenyonga said that the couples would have been even more, but they had to cut them off because of some unfulfilled requirements.
