Former skipper turned coach, Ibrahim Ssekagya, is set to join Cranes' technical staff to plot Egypt's downfall.

Ssekagya is set to arrive tonight to join the team of interim coach Moses Basena, assistant Matia Lule and goalkeeper coach Fred Kajoba.

FUFA has requested Ssekagya to provide technical support to strengthen Cranes for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt at Namboole Stadium on Thursday.

The call comes at a time when Sekagya is serving as one of the coaches at New York Red Bulls' youth team.

Cranes played North Eastern region's football team in a build-up encounter and won 3-1 but Basena believes there is still a lot of work to be done especially in attack.

The match revealed that Cranes still lack urgency in attack as well as defensive coordination.

Foreign based players including goalkeepers Dennis Onyango, Robert Odongkara, defenders Godfrey Walusimbi, Isaac Isinde, midfielder Murshid Jjuko and strikers Geofrey Sserunkuma and Emma Okwi are expected to join the Cranes for Sunday evening's training session.
