Sports Quiz League starts Thursday

Sports enthusiasts within the country will witness a four months action packed sports quiz league. A total of ten teams will kick off the inaugural event on Thursday at Route 256, Lugogo .

The Quiz has been organized to ensure that sports fanatics are tested and also expand their knowledge.

The league that comprises of sports journalists, sports officials and other members from the public will run from August to November.

"The competition is going to be tight since every team is well prepared. I believe this will also widen the knowledge of the participants, "stated Leon Senyange, one of the people behind the idea.

The teams include; Aziz Damani,Agosto,Team Balongo, Team Big size, Team Bingwa, Team Catenaccio,Expendables, Nalufenya,The Eagle, Team Tokyo.

Each team is comprised of four people with a lady plus two substitutes. The teams shall compete across a number of questions based on local and international sports. Every month they will be a round winner.

Each round winner will walk away with a prize money of sh300,000 while the second will get sh200,000. The third, fourth and fifth will take home sh150,000,sh100,000 and sh50,000 respectively. Apart from cash prize they will be hampers that will be given out.

At the end of the four rounds, the team that shall have collected more points will be declared by the champions of the league. A big cash prize awaits the winner.
