KCCA FC defender Timothy Awanyi is the latest player to leave the country for trials in South Africa.

The Uganda Cranes player who was invited by Premier Soccer League (PSL), Ajax Cape Town for trials is expected to travel this week.

This means he won't be considered for the Uganda Cranes against Rwanda in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) this weekend at St Mary's Kitende.

Awanyi who is similar to former Cranes player Timothy Batabaire in his style of play, was part of the team that represented the country in the 2017 AFCON Finals in Gabon. Despite not featuring in any game at AFCON, he gained some exposure.

Recently Onduparaka's duo Rashid Toha and Shaban Muhammad were invited for trials with SuperSport United.

But they failed to make it thus returning home. Cranes defender Murushid Jjuuko is other player who is on the verge of joining Orlando Pirates.
