The T20 fun competition is aimed at celebrating cricket

Expectations are high as the annual Night Cricket season gets underway next week on Friday at the Lugogo oval.

At least 16 teams will fancy their chances of winning the hefty cash prize of Sh15m and Sh8m for the winners and runners up respectively in the reloaded KBSC Premier League season 5.

"We set the standards pretty high from the previous editions. This year's edition is much bigger with improved cash prizes and the whole organization of the event. People should be excited about this once in a lifetime contest" said Tejas Patel, Kampala Boys Sports Club chairman during the launch of the event Thursday evening at Cooper Chimney restaurant in lugogo.

The T20 fun competition is aimed at celebrating cricket and bringing together different people to enjoy the inclusive game.

"There is need to have a proper organized tournament and we are privileged to partner with Rainbow Paints, the main sponsors this year and hope they continue working with us in the future" said Sanjiv Patel, the organizing chairman of the event.

The sixteen teams include; Aziz Damani, Abacus xi, Keshwala xi, Keshwala Boys, Afridi xi,Lahor Lions, Cosmos Warriors, Hunza Warriors,Luhana xi, Jain Samaj,Haandi xi,Yuva, Azam xi, Metro Tyres, Jiya xi and defending champions Pak Stallions.

Unlike before, players from outside Uganda will feature in the competition where teams that don't qualify for the knock out round get to play in the super over contest.

So for the next one month, Lugogo should be the main stop for the cricket enthusiasts and for the night crawlers who love exploring new things for music, different cuisines, happy people and a warm atmosphere awaits them.
