Museveni orders for new salary scale for public officers

President Yoweri Museveni has directed the ministry of public service to come up with a new comprehensive salary scale for all public servants within two months.

This was revealed in parliament by the government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa.

It was after Mbarara Woman MP Rosette Mutambi presented a petition by the Uganda Medical Association showing their discontent with their salary structure of medical workers.

Nankabirwa said that cabinet was also concerned over the same issue and that if government continues handling profession by profession it will result into endless strikes.
