BALL GAMES II | LIRA

There is distinguished high competition for the netball accolade at this year's edition of the National Secondary Schools Sports Association Ball Games II at Dr. Obote College, Boroboro in Lira.

Holders St. Mary's Kitende, now vying for a record 14th title, seem to be having no problem winning every game that comes their way in their group, but it won't be easy defending their title, considering their opponents seem to have come tougher this time.

Missing the services of towering Goal Shooter Mary Cholhok, the East Africa secondary schools netball holders had by Tuesday evening won their third straight game in group A, but will now find stiff challenge from Exodus College, Blessed Sacrament Kimaanya, Kibuli SS and London College in their quest for title number 14.

In the girls' volleyball, Kinaawa High School remained on course for a third straight title, with a 2-0 win over Kitende to qualify for the second round of the games.

Challengers Trust High and St. Bridget Girls Mbarara also made it to the next round with a third straight win, as Maryhill High School beat Namugongo 2-1 to top their group.
