The stage is getting more interesting and extremely unpredictable in the Mehta Premier League. Olila and Tornado Bee made bold statements on a weekend of firsts in a league that rather had a slow start.

Tornado Bee's Mary Nalule stood out like a sore thumb, scoring the first half ton of the tournament (57 from 50 balls) in what was the first tie of the tournament Saturday at the Entebbe oval.

But then her efforts were superseded by Pioneer's Abel Queentor double shows with both ball and bat (42 from 29 balls) and 2/23 in 4 overs to emerge man of the match in a riveting fixture where Tornado Bee having bowled first arrived at 113 for the loss of 6 wickets to level with Pioneer's 113 which were posted in the first innings.

The second game proved the tie breaker with last year's National League champions winning by 7 wickets in what appeared to be a close game.

Carol Namugenyi and Pricco Nakitende had a good spell with the bat scoring 31 from 31 balls and 23 from 30 balls respectively as Pioneer posted 110 in their 20 allotted overs. However Saidat Kemigisha's performance proved a huge impact on the result. She struck 42 not out from 43 balls. Sarah Uwera also weighed in with 34 from 46 balls. earlier in the first innings Rita Nyangendo had picked 2 wickets.

At Kyambogo, Olila beat Wanderers handily in the two game fixture, winning both matches. Sarah Bhakita struck 24 off 14 balls and claimed 3 wickets as Ivan Kakande's girls won by 39 runs in match two. Olila have now joined Pioneer as another side to win a two game fixture in the T20 showpiece.

In the Women's National League, high flying Immaculate Nakisuuyi struck brutally (73 from 51 balls) as Masaka SS beat up on Charity by 98 runs at Budo oval. Charity are yet to find their footing in the second tier following their relegation from the topflight last season.
