Buganda Kingdom donates 110m for sickle cell disease

Buganda Kingdom has handed over sh110m to Central Public Health Laboratories in Butabika as part of contributions towards the fight against Sickle cell.

The money is part of proceeds from this year's Kabaka birthday Run.

It was handed over by the Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga to the minister of state for health Sarah Opendi at the Bulange Mengo.

Mayiga urged the public especially the youths to go for screening before marriage.
