Duncan Mugabe managed to end Ismail Changawa's dominance in the Britam Kenya Open Championship.

The Kenyan had won the last three singles titles before Mugabe stepped up his performance in this year's edition that climaxed on Saturday at Nairobi Club.

The Ugandan top seed came from a set down to beat Shell Kotecha from Kenya 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the men's singles final.

Mugabe also paired with Zambian Edgar Kazembe to win the doubles category. They defeated Dasilva Nkulufa and Christian Saidi 6-3, 6-4 from DRC.

But Kenyan siblings Shufaa and Ismail Changawa beat Mugabe and Natali Coronel from Argentina 7-6, 6-4 in the mixed double final.

"I'm happy to win and grateful for the victory. I'm hopeful I will keep up the form. I thank everyone who has been supporting me", stated Mugabe.

Mugabe, David Oringa, Boris Aguma and Derrick Bakunzi are the only Ugandans that took part in the one week event.

In the ladies singles Coronel beat Ella Avomo from Gabon 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.
