Panthers went cruising past favourites and defending champions MUBS 4-5, a result that has confirmed them leaders on the log.

Liberty Twesiime and Co held their nerve to see off a rather stronger MUBS side Saturday at their home ground. Twesiime's brace fueled the all-important win for Panthers who are looking to stop MUBS from reclaiming the league they won last season.

David Onen's hat-trick for the defending champions did not prove crucial enough for MUBS as liberty ran riot. Goals from Richard Akena, Reagan Ochan and Kenneth Kasule helped to ensure Panthers claimed maximum points.

"I'm happy we managed to stop the uncontrollable defending champions. It is such an important result for our team" said Liberty Twesiime

The Panthers currently lead on 9 points, three points above second placed MUBS who suffered their first defeat of the season.

In the other fixture of the day, YMCA made light work of Jinja Nile Zulu condemning them to a 9-4 defeat courtesy of Dalton Wadrif and Shanick Bukenya's standout performances producing 4 and 3 goals respectively.

Jinja Nile Zulu are still searching for that second win since debuting last season. Despite having an international player Robert Towers in their ranks.
