Fire kills toddler in Kabale

A four year child Julius Manige has died following the fire that gutted their house where he had been left by the mother identified as Immaculate Kyomugisha .The incident took place took place in Butaka cell, Kirigime ward in Kabale Municipality.

According to the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson Elly Maate, the incident happened on Wednesday night at around 11pm. The fire was a result of candle neglect by Kyomugisha.

Maate said Kyomugisha allegedly after returning home drunk lit the candle and slept without putting it off and this escalated the fire. He said house properties such as mattresses and beds had got burnt although the Police fire brigade managed to extinguish the fire.

Maate also told New Vision that Kyomugisha who was sleeping on the same bed with her deceased son also sustained serious burns and was rushed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital where she is nursing injuries from.
