People were urged to concentrate on planting more

In a bid to save people from biting hunger, Iteso Welfare Association (IWA) has extended food support to children living with HIV in Dakabela Sub County, Soroti district.

650kgs and 100kgs of maize flour and beans respectively were given to children enrolled at Dakabela Health Centre III.

While delivering food support, Allen Harriet Anyago, the manager of food distribution program at IWA appealed to the beneficiaries to use the food sparingly.

She also urged people to concentrate on planting more to curb food shortage in future.

"This is little relief but we should also plant more food crops to avoid future setbacks of food crisis" Anyago said.

Docus Akony who is in charge of Dakabela Health Centre III expressed gratitude to IWA, saying medication which had been abandoned by some people living with HIV because of food shortage has been addressed.

She warned beneficiaries against selling the food but use it for the right purpose its meant for.
