Mubende accident claims three, five injured

Two people died on spot after they were involved in a fatal accident on Mityana- Mubende road and another victim died at Mulago National Referral hospital.

Other victims from the same family sustained injuries. The accident took place when the victims were coming from the burial ceremony in Fort Portal.

Those who died on spot included a three year old boy and six year old boy while Maimuna Nambozo, a resident of Makindye in her 30s died at Mulago National Referral hospital. The accident took place after the vehicle in which they were travelling lost control.

Other victims including Jamirah Busemera, Aisha Kangume 28 and her three months old baby are nursing wounds at Mulago hospital. Others were Mbabazi Lukiga, a resident of Ndeeba and Yunus Sedungu.

According to Sedungu he survived because he was using seat belt. "The driver also sustained minor injuries because he was using a seat belt unlike other people who never fastened seat belts,' he said.
