Museveni hosts UNAIDS Under Secretary General

Michel Sidibe was in the country for the launching of the Presidential Fast Track Initiative to End the AIDS Epidemic in Uganda by 2030

President Yoweri Museveni has hosted the visiting United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) Under Secretary General and Executive Director, Michel Sidibe, to a dinner at State House, Entebbe. 

Sidibe was in the country for the launching of the Presidential Fast Track Initiative to End the AIDS Epidemic in Uganda by 2030. 

The launch ceremony took place last on Tuesday at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala and was attended, among others, the 1st Lady of Zambia, Esther Lungu. 

The dinner was also attended by the Minister of Health, Ruth Aceng, Presidency Minister, Esther Mbayo, State Minister for Health, Sarah Opendi, the American Ambassador to Uganda, Deborah Malac, the Irish Ambassador to Uganda, Donal Cronin, the UN Resident Coordinator in Uganda, Rosa Malango, the outgoing UNAIDS country representative, Amakobe Sande and the incoming UNAIDS country representative Karusa Kiragu.
