Uganda to host regional conference on eye care

It will be held under the Theme ‘Team Work in Eye Care ’
Uganda is preparing to host the high level 5th Conference of Ophthalmology of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa scheduled to take place between August 16-18.
The conference is to be held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo under the Theme ‘Team Work in Eye Care '.
The 2016 conference was hosted by the Tanzanian ophthalmology Society in Arusha.
According to Dr. Anne Ampaire Musika, the chairperson of the congress and an ophthalmologist at Mulago Hospital said as 2020 approaches, it is eminent that avoidable blindness should be tackled as a team.
"The conference aims to understand the relevance of collaboration and networking unmasking the opportunities in eye care and realign ourselves to address sustainable development goals," Musika said in a statement.
Key players in eye care, optometrist, and international speakers have been invited to cover various scientific topics.
