Power started on a good note with a 60-56 victory over the defending champions City Oilers on Friday.

Betway Power's new signing Sulaimani Bbale has promised to give his team his best in the National Basketball league season that opened Friday at Lugogo in Kampala.

"It is a chance for me to try and grow my career as a player and I will work hard for that," said Bbale at a press conference in Kololo where Power unveiled their new players.

Bbale who did not play in the Betway Power, City Oilers' contest on Saturday during the men's opening game of the new NBL season, is one of the six new players for the 2017 season.

Sunday Okot, Francis Kasinde, Diego Angemi, Tyrone Martin and Julius Wapera were the other new signings unveiled by the club.

They join a Power team made up of; Isaac Afidra, Micheal Makiadi, Fhamy Sebatindira, Paul Odong and team captain Joseph Ikong.

Power started on a good note with a 60-56 victory over the defending champions City Oilers on Friday.

"The opening game was great. The players did exactly what was expected of them and as a team, we shall soldier on for another title," said Power's head coach, Arnold Lando.

Lando also commented that, "The main reason we went in for Bbale, is because of his ability to defend, something we didn't do particularly well last season."

"He is a good rebounder and will give us the size needed for defense,"he added.

Power last won the championship in 2011.
