Using violence distorts the right model of politicking

As aspirants for the Toroma County MP seat continue canvassing for votes, the Archdeacon of Usuk Archdeaconry in Katakwi district, John Robert Angiro, has called for peaceful political campaigns.

Angiro said peaceful campaigns give candidates ample time to express their manifestos which the electorate can use to making judgment on whom to vote.

He explained that using violence distorts the right model of politicking which is also against biblical teachings.

Martin Emeru, the coordinator of Uganda Christian Fellowship in Soroti district appealed to the electorate to follow the advice of elders against electoral violence.

According to him, elders are the opinion leaders in the society who understand the effects of engaging in violence.
