Silverfin Academy swimmers boosted by their numbers came on top of their organised event with most of the swimmers posting personal bests at the Silverfin Swim Academy Pentathlon that ended at the Gems Cambridge International School pool on Saturday.

Compared to the time returned in the first edition of the event last year, Saturday's event proved Uganda's youngsters are progressing well at their different clubs.

In the girls 9-10 year's category, Silverfin's Hannah Kyanda (42.62) was six seconds faster than the time she posted at last year's event despite being beaten by Seals Club's Ayana Muhabwe (42.13) in the 50m butterfly event where Shauna Daka also improved from 55.96 to 43.03.

Jason Malan (37.41), John Kafumbe (42.55) and Yonah Lumonya (45.11) who were the top three in the boys' category in the same age category also had better time than Brian Bowmaker's winning time of 46.90, posted last year.

It was the same in the 50m freestyle race where Kyanda (36.61), Neema Kangi (37.50) and Shauna Daka's (38.82) was far better than last years' winning time of 39.32 posted by the former.

In the 8 and under, Silverfin's Raya Inell clocked 21.33 to beat Seals' Amelia Mudanye (22.01) and Raya Angemi (22.20) in the 25m butterfly but Mudanye was better in the backstroke clocking 22.98 ahead of Fatuma Nansereko (23.39) and Raya (24.60).

Jethro Mugisha (20.55) also came first ahead of Sailfish's Arthur Mwase (23.36) and Isaiah Kuc (25.26) in the butterfly race, but it was Mwase (27.61) who posted better time in the breaststroke over the 50m distance where Seals Shaun Murungi who came third was slower by one second and seven micro seconds.
