Police clarify on AYA boss sexual assault case

Apr 20, 2017

Police spokesperson Asan Kasingye says both cases of Assault and Sexual Harassment are handled concurrently

Police have dismissed claims that the case of sexual assault against the Director of AYA Investment Muhammed Hamid is been mismanaged by some police officers who are carrying out the investigations.

Recently, a female worker of AYA reported two cases of Assault and Sexual Harassment at CPS  and Old Kampala Police Station and also informed former state Minister of Labor Hebert Kabafunzaki.

But a week ago, Kabafunzaki was arrested in a Serena Hotel while receiving a bribe of sh5m from Muhammed Hamid which was allegedly to seduce the minister to sabotage the case.

However, police spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye says both cases of Assault and Sexual Harassment are handled concurrently by police officers at CPS Kampala and Hamid shall be charged in the courts of law once the file is sanctioned by  the DPP.
