Mubajje appoints 20 district Kadhis

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has appointed 20 district Kadhis (judges) to replace the deceased, retired, acting and expelled ones.

In a statement from Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) spokesperson, Hajj Nsereko Mutumba, Mubajje wished the new Kadhis success.

He also urged those who have been holding the offices to handover to the incoming district Kadhis peacefully and in time.

"Their mandate starts on April 1 2017," said the statement.

UMSC now has 62 substantive and acting districts Kadhis.

The Mufti announced the newly appointed Kadhis on Friday at the UMSC headquarters in Old Kampala.

Those appointed are Sheikh Muzamir Kidandaire (Budaka), Sheikh Kassim Nsamba.

(Isingiro), Sheikh Idris Mayanja (Kalangala), Sheikh Ali yahaya Nalimo (Kaliro), Sheikh Muhamed Bwomono (Kitgum), Sheikh Luwenda Bashir (Mityana), Sheikh Shazil Lumala (Mukono),  Sheikh Abdallah Semakula (Sembabule), Sheikh Hamidu Wandega (Sironko) and Sheikh Ghalib Hussein Talib (Tooro).

Others are Sheikh Raganyi Ibrahim (Tororo), Sheikh Sentale Mubaraka (Lyantonde), Sheikh Abdulmajeed Mulinda (Kyankwanzi), Sheikh Kugonza Ashiraf (Bunyoro), Sheikh Yahaya Mugisha (Masindi), Sheikh Twaha Sekalala (Nakaseke), Sheikh Jamil Abandyo (Busia), Sheikh Luganda Issa (Namayingo), Sheikh Abdul Majid Kauta (Kumi) and Sheikh Abdul Majid Kamarampaka (Sheema).

The statement said the appointments followed the oral and written interviews conducted recently by the Majlis Al-Ulama (College of Sheikhs).
